The Cooperation Course with Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Energy Science was successfully concluded.

APERC Concludes Its Cooperative Lecture Course with Kyoto University on the Energy Future of the Asia-Pacific Region

Kyoto, Japan – 23 January 2026 – The Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC) has successfully concluded its cooperative lecture course, “Energy Future of the Asia-Pacific Region”, at the Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University. The course marked the fourth year of this ongoing academic collaboration, which was launched in 2022 to commemorate APERC’s 25th anniversary in 2021 and to share energy expertise with students at Kyoto University.

The course concluded with a wrap-up session addressing pathways toward net-zero and carbon neutrality and their implications for energy security and resilience. Through interactive discussions between APERC researchers and students, the program strengthened participants’ capacity for policy-oriented analysis and critical thinking, particularly on trade-offs among energy security, affordability, and sustainability. APERC looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Kyoto University and further strengthening the relationship between research, education, and policy dialogue in the Asia-Pacific region.
