The APEC Capacity Building Workshop for New and Renewable Energy Policy with the theme “RE Policies and Investment: Are We on the Right Track?” was delivered on 31 March 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, providing learning opportunities and insights for participants in the renewable energy policy space. The Workshop provided a platform for member economies to share challenges and opportunities in renewable energy implementation, allowing for peer learning and a practical exchange of ideas. Additionally, renewable energy experts shared key insights on emerging business models and financing approaches to renewable energy policy development in the APEC region. The workshop was facilitated through a blend of expert presentations, two fishbowl discussion sessions and a “world café” style conversation that ensured a high level of engagement from the audience. The workshop produced novel and deep insights that APEC economies can pursue to accelerate renewable energy deployment.
