APERC’s Cooperative Lecture Course with Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Energy Science Enters Its Fifth Year with an Enhanced Curriculum

Kyoto, Japan – 2 October 2026 – The Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC) has commenced the fifth year of its cooperative lecture course, “Energy Future of the Asia-Pacific Region,” at the Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University. Building on the achievements of the previous four years, the ongoing collaboration continues to provide students with valuable insights into the energy challenges and policy developments shaping the Asia-Pacific region.

Since its launch in 2022, the course has served as a platform for sharing APERC’s research findings and expertise with the next generation of energy professionals. As the collaboration enters its fifth year, the course content has been further enriched to deepen students’ understanding of the increasingly complex energy landscape, including the challenges of achieving net-zero emissions and carbon neutrality while ensuring energy security, affordability, and sustainability.

Through lectures and interactive discussions with APERC researchers, students have opportunities to explore regional energy trends, examine policy options, and develop their analytical and critical-thinking skills. The course also fosters dialogue between research and academia, helping bridge the gap between energy policy research and education.

APERC values its continued partnership with Kyoto University and looks forward to further strengthening this collaboration, supporting the development of future energy leaders, and contributing to informed energy policy discussions across the Asia-Pacific region.
