The circumstances surrounding LNG are changing constantly and drastically in both producing countries and consuming countries. For example, the shale gas revolution has had significant effects due to the boost in gas production. In gas consuming countries, policy change is occurring that impacts on LNG procurement, including diversifying its resources.

APERC, jointly with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), holds an annual conference to serve as a forum for producing and consuming countries to share views on the long-term prospects for LNG demand and supply and to promote cooperation toward greater transparency in LNG markets.
